Since the launch of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of characters, and a thrilling plot showcasing divine entities, demons, and malevolent powers growing in strength within the urban setting.
Note: Key plot points for Episode 3 of the new season are included.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The latest chapter ended with a huge suspense moment and presented the initial group of characters who will separate from the central cast to embark on their independent quest, apart from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table features Teor (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
With an extensive roster, it was clear from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Introduction, weaving together the personal journeys before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Planners, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
As described by the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are rare.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might look out of place, but the events of the latest installment show why these five characters are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
First, the team knows exactly where to head next after a intense initial meeting with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—manipulated the foes for his own means, entering the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The antagonist then cleared his liabilities and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, above the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each member has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires vengeance.
- The adventurer knows Timmony and cautions that it is a dangerous environment.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their position as important members in the influential clan could help the team enter places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, Teor pledged a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are sought by the powers that rule the city for a range of causes, making remaining behind too risky:
- Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.
This means them little choice but to journey toward the remote area in pursuit of the traitor.
Future Episodes
According to the latest episode’s follow-up content, we learn that the Soldiers table won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the cast members to form the Questers and Schemers groups.
Viewers can expect finding out which adventurers will be in which group in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, released on October 24.
